This is my first year teaching 1st grade at Wetumpka Elementary.  I previously taught kindergarten at Coosada Elementary for five years and 5th grade at Millbrook Middle School.  I was chosen as the Elmore County Teacher of the Year for 2015-2016 and the Millbrook Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2014-2015.  I am so excited about teaching 1st grade and giving my students a strong foundation for the future.  It's going to be an incredible year!  I'm originally from Destin, Florida.  I moved to Montgomery to attend Huntingdon College, but met a cute Prattville boy at Walmart and never made it back to the coast.  My husband, Chris, and I have been married 22 years.  We have three children (Avery-21, Owen-19, and Jack-11).  Avery is a senior at Troy University in Troy majoring in elementary education, Owen is a freshman at Auburn University Montgomery majoring in nursing, and Jack is moving up to 6th grade.  In addition to spending time with my family, I love exercising, pinterest, shopping, and Jesus.
